Can you give us a little background on your company please?
We are an IT / Tech / Digital recruitment business offering contract and permanent recruitment services to Scotland, the North of England and Thailand with offices in Edinburgh, Manchester and Bangkok.
Tell us about a business challenge you have faced (new product designed/client challenge/etc)?
Hiring new staff! We started a campaign to find four new recruits.
What was your solution?
Time and resources! Being a recruitment business we already had access to significant resources, mainly all the main UK advertising sites plus most of the key CV databases. We also have the talent to find talent! The biggest issue was finding the time to use the resources! We promoted our key consultant into a Managerial position. This allowed him the time to find the right staff, as well as tailor (improve!) our existing training scheme. This included a more structured induction and introduction to the job.
Tell us about the benefits of your solution to the initial problem?
We can grow the business geographically as well as provide even better services to our clients. We already had the best tools for the job, but with more staff to serve our clients, we can be confident that we will leave no stone unturned to find the best talent.
Why did you join ScotlandIS?
To show we were serious about the sector and genuinely care and take an interest in the Scotland tech scene.
What have you gained from being a ScotlandIS member? It’s hard to say specifically. Certainly, the events are great as we get to meet new prospective clients. We learn a lot about trends in the industry from ScotlandIS. There is probably a lot of respect given to us a suppliers to the tech industry from being a member.
