ScotlandIS invites you to join a focused roundtable discussion on the UK Cyber Security Growth Action Plan.
This is an independent project funded by the Center for Sectoral Economic Performance (CSEP) at Imperial College London and led by Simon Shiu, until recently VP and Director of Cyber Security Research at HP Labs, and now visiting Professor of Cyber Security at the University of Bristol.
This is your opportunity to ensure that the voice of Scotland’s cyber sector is heard at a national level — influencing how future government support is shaped across investment, innovation, skills, exports, and business growth.
Whilst independent, the Cyber Security Growth Action Plan is timed to help DSIT work with the results of the recently published Industrial Strategy and to the refresh of the UK Cyber Strategy. You can read the full plan here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/cyber-growth-action-plan-2025

Event Details
This Skills Roundtable is being held in association with St Andrews University and Fife College as an opportunity for ScotlandIS members to provide insight into skills requirements for the sector.
Throughout the event we will discuss gaps and mismatches within Higher Education (HE)/Further Education (FE), and requirements from industry. We will discuss the skills that are required in specific areas across Scotland, explore the level of skills required by industry, and look at how qualification levels impact roles.
What is the demand for qualifications over experience, and what are the barriers to accessing that training?
It is hoped that the audience will leave with a better grasp of the skills rquirements across Scotland, and that educational institutions gain a clearer understanding of sector requirements to ensure the training they are providing is relevant.
